Posted 09-09-05 02:38 PM 1. You come to the board, and read hilarious antics, and you are moved to join in.
2. You hit "post reply".
Oh…. That big picture with Zippy is to reply?? I did not see that way up on top of the screen. I have bad peripheral vision with the button eyes. I always click on the little yellow box in the message. I will try the Zippy button for this reply and see what happens.
3. Post reply comes on the screen all red with the yellow band on top.
Yes!!
4. As you prepare to type, Netscape goes "POOOF" and the window does what? Goes back to the main page? Or are you opening another window to post your reply and then that window "poof" vanishes?
Sorry Wysi. It really is Whooosh and not * * POOF * * `````````````````
No new window open, no window closes. The screen just acts like I hit the submit button and takes me to the newly posted message, which only has the previous message quoted, because I did not have time to write anything in the two seconds that the reply thingy was on my screen. That’s the Whooosh part.
6. And then you can "edit" the message, type what you have to say, and when you submit it works?
I try, but again, two seconds on the screen and Whooosh. It takes me to the newly edited message, which is just the original message with “edited by Coco” on the bottom.
Then I tap edit message AGAIN… and it lets me type something on the third try.
Whew! It’s a lot of work for a little monkey like me. But you are all fun and nice monkeys, with interesting lives, so it is a labor of love. (Group hug)
It must have to do with your settings in Netscape. Does this problem happen to you or your peoples anywhere else?
What sort of a computer do the peoples have?
No, only here. The girl is a total geek and always on her ‘puter and she says this doesn’t happen anywhere else. It’s some new thingy she got a couple of months ago. They call it a laptop, but it’s more like a warm sofa. It says T-O-S-H-I-B-A.

Posted 09-09-05 02:49 PM Hmmm... tapping the Zippy button has different results. I get a flash of the reply screen, then it goes to a screen that says, You didn't enter a subject, username or message. Use your back button and try again..
So I tap the back arrow and get to this screen where I can type and (so far) tap submit when I am done. Woohoo!!! It's just a lot of scrolling to get back to the top of the page to tap Zippy, and I always worry about wearing out my paws.

Posted 09-11-05 01:12 PM When you're in the message, hit the "post a reply" Zippy, not the "post new topic" Zippy, and you should get the post reply screen. If you have cookies set, then "coco" should appear in the username box and a bunch of asterisks concealing your password should appear in the password box. If you do not hav e cookies set then you have to type your name and your password, then your message. I do not see editings so it looks like maybe you have figured some stuff out. We can go over this all if you have more questions.

I've studied this and can report my findings.
When I tap on reply Zippy it still forwards it to the screen saying I didn't pick a topic. I was careful to pick reply, and not a new topic because I read that Reggie is limited in the numbers. But I can back space and get it to stick long enough to type a message. When I try to reply with quote, I still get rushed through with all the wwwoossshhHH business three times.
But then I tried this Explorering thingy and no more woosh. I think the Netscape peeples are plotting to keep us from posting here because they made it really difficult.

Posted 09-25-05 06:59 PM Oh Yeah,
To fix your avatar first right click on the picture I found and go all the way down and click on 'properties'. From the little window that opens up just copy the address URL.(drag mouse to highlight and right click to select copy)
Now go to the top of this page where it says update profile and enter your name and password. A form shows up with a place marked 'avatar'. Make sure it is empty and clean as a whistle then 'paste' the address from the picture.
Bingo.

By the way, thank you professor. Up until now, I have focused on little else than preserving my good looks.

Posted 09-26-05 01:12 PM The professor said most avatar businesses have built in shrink it machines so size shouldn't matter. There will be some distortion because of the square requirments.
Here is the real size of my picture and you can compare.

Thank you, and I must say you look very cute in both sizes of your picture, I re-entered the link before posting this message, so now we will see if it comes up.

Posted 10-10-05 07:59 PM Dear Wysi Wyg,
I am currently tormented by something...
do you want to know what it is?
GOOD, I'd be happy to tell you what it is!
I tried to change my avatar to show everyone how I look right sides up, and I really really thought I did everything according to the rules, but as you can see,
I am nowhere! What should I do?

Posted 10-11-05 02:20 PM The only thing you have to post in your avatar slot is the link:
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b..._h/giacamo2.jpg
Rather than the complicated novogate visualizing you've got going on.
If you paste the above link into your avatar field you should show up dandily.

Thanks for trying to help her, though.

Posted 05-21-06 12:02 AM Hi Emily Ann!
You sure look nice. I like your sparkley eyes. We have a monkey at the beautyshop that has sparkley eyes.
And your highlights in your hair are awesome. My goodness, that must have taken a lot of work. Hildur has yarn hair, but it's just black. Sometimes it colects lint, and it looks like she has dandruf, so we have to shake her really good sometimes to get it off. When we do that it makes her eyes roll to the back of her head. Then she's kinda in a daze for a few miniutes.
Are you going to have a pickNick on Mre-Moral Day? Do you like to play Anny Anny over? Have you ever had a fried Ba-Lony Sammy?

Posted 05-21-06 07:45 PM Thank you for being so nice to me everyone. This is the best place to meet nice monkey friends!
I don't know if you can tell from my picture, but my eyes are buttons that are brown in the middle and gold around the edge. My yarn hair is lots of colors of yarn all together. Mom says my hair is her very favorite thing about me. I'm smaller than all the other monkeys in our house. Mom thinks I'm made out of small size socks. She says she thinks that's really cute!

What a beautiful bunch of monkeys! I must say I love your candy striper outfit. I'm glad to know I'm not the only little monkey. Some of my tall brothers tease me a lot. Hmmpfff!

Posted 06-19-06 10:59 AM Anybody eles notice a funky back in time feeling when they click on the old sticky topics???
I gots to say, unce I got used to the new red on the red heel board... the old red almost hurts my buttons!!!

p.s. maybe after all the sticky topics are bumped they will be the new red too?
I think it's that bumping thing... cause it don't have to a sticky topic all the older topics go back in time to the old red....

Posted 06-19-06 01:45 PM Hey, Ceru.
I was curious after your post and did a little playing around. With a bit of twisting and turning, here is what I found.
If we post a new post on a very old thread,
the new post will turn it a much darker red.
Then if we delete it,
no one knows we cheated!
(That's if, I'll admit it,
there's nothing that really needs to be said....)
Er, sorry. 'Twas reading the Monkey Primer on posting and got the rhyming thing stuck in my head.

Posted 06-22-06 05:58 PM I have a couple monkeys that have been adopted and they don't post anymore.
I have monkeys that live here and want to post in the place where the adopted monkeys used to be. I tried giving the new monkeys the abandoned slots, but it doesn't work. Is there a way to make it work?
Thank you
