Posted 03-06-05 12:06 PM Hello to everyone! This thread is for anyone who is seeking to adopt a sock monkey for their very own. There are several peoples on this message board who are not only keepers of rampant insane creature characters -- they also make them for adoption. I am going to let them introduce theirownselves and provide links to their sites -- feel free to ask questions and I'm sure they'll be glad to help you find a monkey who meets your needs as a caretaker and future adoptive parent and/or dissemenator of said responsibility (ie. gifts).
Monkey Makers, feel free to put links here and also to put up any new creations who might be seeking homes, and if you need anything or have any concerns let us know!

Your monkeys are the very best, really. Someday I hope I can get as good at making them as you.
Hugs,

Posted 03-18-05 02:28 PM You are very kind, Annie. But I believe that they are ALL the best! Any sock critter made with two lovin' hands in the spirit of the Great Grandma is, by definition (at least in my dictionary), THE BEST! Yours, Olivia's, Joel's, Jombi's, Tamara's, Lisa E's, and every time traveler at the Red Heel... all of 'em! That's the neat thing about it.

Posted 03-24-05 09:18 PM I arrived at my new home today! Loving it so far. Mommy thinks I'm so cute, and is teaching me how to use all her techie stuff. Her cat even gave me a smooch when I jumped out of my box to say hello.
Thanks so much Missus Mel'nee for finding me such a great new home!

Posted 03-25-05 09:56 PM Thank you for your kind words, Daisy Marie. I love it here, and can't wait for big sis to arrive. I'll show her around, and show her how to work all the high-techie stuff around here, so that we can have fun while mommy's away at work. We might have to wait until June until any semblence of garden arises, but we will go play out there when it finally happens.

Posted 03-30-05 11:17 AM Do you all have a licence to be selling monkeys?
I called it in and I couldn't find one - so $50 fine for each one of you!
That's right.
For illegal monkey selling.
And once I inspect your facilities, I'm sure there's going to be a lot more where that came from due to shabby conditions, dirty conditions, monkey mistreatment.
I can tell just looking at you all.
Pretending to be all nice and sweet...

Olivia I run the board!
 |
Posted 03-31-05 09:37 PM

Hello, I am Olivia, liscensed in the state of Texas monkey-maker and minion-summoner. My website is www.fluff.tv
Most of my stuff is custom. I seldom have pre-made monkeys or other creatures available. When I do, they get gobbled up pretty quckly from the venue I live in and help run: www.superhappyfunland.com
I make monkeys, bunnies, kitties, rats, moose, squirrels, snakes, sockzillas and more. I will do my best to match a person's specifications within reason.
Here are some examples of custom creatures I have made:
MONKEYS:

Butterbleum, my first and all-time-favorite monkey made from vintage socks, pictured with one of my partner Flakey's sock minions. Butterbleum was sent to Sweden.
(Read more about sock minions below)

Moonflower (who lives at Sunnyflower Farm) pictured with her cousin Sheeba, who lives with Flakey's mom.

Monkey in a straightjacket #1...(was not custom, but got purchased right away)

The custom crazy monkey in a straightjacket#2
(somebody liked photo he saw of #1 but wanted his monkey to be crazier)

Custom monkey with "crazy teeth" (I was particularly fond of this guy)

Bizarro monkey hand puppet. We use him in puppet shows. His body is unstuffed and he has a movable mouth.

The lady who ordered this one wanted it to resemble her boyfriend who grew up in an orphanage where he had a serious bond with his sock monkey. I was given a photo to work from.
NON-MONKEYS:

The only sock pig I ever made.

Bucky Cat from "Get Fuzzy" (i don't know if I could make another one)

An example of what people get when they request one like Foofie..I can usually do stripes though..I did not have any available for this one.

Custom mother and baby sockzillas. There is a picture of the daddy on my website in the gallery..from the wild days before he got shacked up
SOCK MINIONS:
Sock Minions are a particularly popular item and there are several different styles...Just tell us the details you want it to have and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Evil sock minion I recently shipped off to the U.K.
This is my newest creation which I finished tonight...ordered by a friend not too long ago. He wanted a devil kitty and this is what I came up with. Most people say he looks more like a vampire.:

I will periodicly add photos of my stuff to this post until it becomes too unbearably long
Once again, my website is www.fluff.tv
You can contact me directly at

Posted 04-03-05 02:39 PM I find it pretty disturbing how many minions the Girl has been making lately...They don't cause as much trouble as Flakey's minions, but they still give me the creeps.

Posted 04-03-05 02:43 PM Not to worry folks! Even thought I am still a student of the academy, I the magical monkey Tangeree have been employed as ethics manager among minions.
That means if any of them get all scary and try to start kidnapping again and stuff, they will have to answer to me.
Here i am with my newest trainee..

I sure wish he wasn't leaving in a few days, he'd sure make a great witch-cat, and I could sure use some help.

Instead, you can find a joyful spiriting if you learn how to play games and laugh and create adventurings with new friends, too! It will keep you happy and strong and bright!
Beleef it! It is a very powerful magic of the goodness!
