New critters on the adoption site!-

Veronica designed most of the costumes this time around.

I also revamped the adoption pages a little bit.

I really like what you have done with your site too!
Looks cleaner and more organized.
I will be putting up a link section soon and will certianly add your site, if it's ok with you?

I have a couple of new monkeys I made in South America ready for adoption.

I can't wait to start with good 'ol red heels again.

Hi, Tamara!

It's good to have you back. Those are some gorgeous monkeys! They have very clean lines in addition to their interesting fabrics... nice!!

Thanks for checking out the site, and your kind words. I would be honored to be linked to your site.

I may re-take a couple of these photos, but I've been in a good monkey-making place lately. Veronica's been working hard to come up with some original costume designs, too. Here's a little bit--

It's only the second time I'm allowing a google-eyed critter on the adoption site, because I still haven't found sewable googles and have to hot-glue them, but Tenacity's have lasted a year and a half, even after hanging out in Beebe for awhile in the hot sun, so I'm feeling more confident about them.

I had a leg left from my favorite pair of jeans, so Veronica made this guy an outfit. I really kind of like him! The hair is this cool furry fabric. He's also smaller than he looks... I broke into my stash of smaller Rockfords these last few days.

Another Veronica outfit. She was thinking "baby friendly" didn't have to mean fashion-lame. She wears this ski cap on her head that she can pop on and off, too, so her ears make this sudden appearance.

Sometimes I don't know quite WHERE they come from! Behold le crazed baker.

This critter isn't new, but it's been in desperate need of more costuming than just the cap. Now it kind of reminds me of a crossing guard.

Feather hair!!! Man, was this FUN to do! Once draped in all that feathery fineness, any more costuming seemed superfluous. Auntee Jill particularly likes this one.

Finally, the current Grand Daddy of the crop... more feathery hair action (made a great beard), plus one of Veronica's new costume designs. I'm really happy with how this one came out.

Back to the workshop I go. May the spirit of the Great Grandma be with you all, monkey-makers!

Uh, hey. Missus M asked me to post the new monkeys for you guys, since she's back at the office today. Spent a week's vacation in the workshop, which is cool. We probably would have done more, but she started complaining about her thimble finger aching. (Wimp!)

So, uh, here they are:

This one's a baby-friendly monkey for, uh, you know. Babies.

So's this one.

Kind of a cowgirl motif here. I did some serious work refurbishing that costume. Designed the hat and boots, too.

This guy reminds me of a carnval barker. An acrobatic one.

I totally designed the costume for this one! Dig it--

The dress is vintage, but I did design her hat. This chick's pretty OK.

And finally... OK. We've had this dress for like, a year, but Missus M only just found the shoes. Must be kismet or something, given the Monkeys of Oz deal going on in another thread. Anyway, here she is... we made her little dog, too.

So that goes a long way towards getting us ready for festival season. We've got the Heritage Festival Sept. 17-18 and the Hartsburg Pumpkin Festival Oct. 8-9. And the adoption website is up and running, of course:

So the Girl made me model with the flowers so she could show me off on some gardening message board, whatever that is. All the sudden everywun wanted me! I have never felt so important! Everywun started emailing the Girl to see if they could BUY me! Let me just say - I am NOT for sale. And I am not cheap! It seems that lots of these gardening peoples used to have sock brethren in the past and I suppose I reminded them of how great we are as a species. Anyways, I was hoping that it was OK for the Girl to give out the websites for the various munkey adoption houses that were listed here on this thread (I counted three). Maybe some of the munkeys will get new homes with these garden peoples. I think though that I should be getting some sort of commission or something since it was my cuteness that started all this!

OK I will pass the links on to all those garden peoples and hopefully some munkeys will be adopted out to peoples with lots of flowers and garden foods.

BTW "The Girl" was reading my post and she said that she would rather me not refer to her as "The Girl" so from now on I will call her what everywun calls her around here which is Beanie!

Let me add a Thank You! to Munka as well.

I can certainly see why you'd be sought after.

Here is one of my first Red Heel monkeys since I've been back. She is wearing a souvenier from Peru.

Now that's one expressive face, Tamara! I really like the way you did the eyes and nose.

Again, I think of your designs as being really clean.

You're certainly a copper character, Mikey! Thanks so much for the kind compliment.

I finally got the Indian chief posted--

I really loved making this one. Everything about that costume just feels incredible! I hope he ends up in a good home.

We are always happy to meet a lover and maker of sock monkeys. You have quite a talent, I especially like the thongs on the Geisha Monkey.
Thanks for looking us up

Greetings, CC! Those are some mighty nice monkeys you've got, there. I agree with Annie... the geisha monkey is particularly inspired, although I LOVE that vampire! Right on!

The monkeys technically give us non-stuffed "peeples" exactly two threads-- this one and "Monkey Maker's Corner." Be well and happy here!

I am finding it very hard to make ears for tiny monkeys. Is there a secret? When I say tiny, I mean about the size of my pinky finger to the first knuckle, which is likely the same as your pinky finger to the first knuckle.
I also wondered if it is possible to do more of the average size monkey sewing on the machine. At this point I follow the instructions from the package and I like doing it that way, but I thought maybe I could get some expressions or a more animated appearance by doing some of the assembly on the machine.

strangely I was googling photos for "Asian monkeys" and I saw your monkey come up! Then I just happened to browse this topic and saw the same monkey and gasped because it was such a strange coincidence :-)

Bon jour!

I have petite ears since I am only two inches tall. They are little round knots of fabric. Bigger ears would get in my way when I climb tall buildings, oui!
