It was like a fabric store burst open in our living room. There were stacks and stacks of beautiful fabrics. And a note from Bert, Shelly Belly, Jerome, Hildur, Red Marie, and Kathy. On Kathy's personalized stationary!

You are the definition of stylin' Knitty! Now you have to ride your bike to the cuppy cake shop to show them your new cuppy cake shirt.

We got bling too. Name necklaces and little fluttering butterfly jewels.

I most the time listen to Baree Man-A-Low. I like Copa Cabana. But sometimes I like the Rod Stewart, and Milli Vanilli.

the site looks good and the Bull City monks (and people) are green with envy. We don't know how to make web sites. We think we are doing pretty darn good just to be on the computer at all!

Ceru,

Your new site looks awesome! I found some glitches in links & stuff and some display weirdness, but I'll send you an email about that.

Love the font for SockMonkey.net.

What a promising and ambitious website you are in the process of creating! It will, no doubt, become a very popular hub.

If I may, and with all due respect, might I suggest that you reconsider your dating for the pattern for the vintage sock monkey. Red Heel socks were not manufactured before 1932 and that Nelson Knitting did not start including the pattern in its packages until 1953. The pattern first appeared in Pack-O-Fun in 1955 and How to Make Sock Creatures (Come to Your House) was published in 1958.

I write about this some in my introduction in Sock Monkey Dreams, but I would actually suggest you crib heavily from Dan Bartlett's excellent timeline in Everything's Coming Up Sock Monkeys as this is the most undiluted and carefully researched history of sock monkey socks and patterns of which I am aware.

If, however, you have evidence of your 1920 pattern date please elaborate. You would find in me an enthusiastic and utterly fascinated listener.

Brilliant work tracing the change in pattern from 1970. I look forward to more of your thoughts on that issue . . .

Wow, Ceru... I've only skimmed the surface so far, but I can tell that you guys have done an amazing job on the site! Woo-hoo! Both hands clapping over here!

I made a few small tweaks to our site this weekend, although nothing like the complete overhaul it could use. But I'm going to have to keep putting any major projects like that on the back burner until I get this school thing finished (she keeps reminding herself). I'll have your site as inspiration in the meantime, though. Very cool!

Daisy Marie has asked me to send you a request about linking from her adventuring pages to your site, so I told her I'd send an email this week.

Be most well and happy,
Missus Mel'nee

Thank you Loretta, Folio and Missus Melnee!

That is most helpful informations Folio! I will be sure to let the boy know to change the dates.
And we'd like to know of any other things that are not correct.

I can't believe we didn't think to put Daisy Maries page in the Famous Monkeys area. I am so embarrased! I will certainly have the boy include it. I hope I didn't hurt her feelings. I think she is as sweet and nice a sock monkey as there ever was! And she is very photogenic.

Tamara was interviewed about sock monkeys for a local crafting sit called DIY Alert. If you want see it's here
http://www.diyalert.com/node/3054

Thanks again for taking a look at the site. I'll post again when it's really done and see if anyone can find more glitches and such!
