Hi Googlie-
That was just a little dinner meeting with the director. I didn't even realize he was filming me. We're going to be working on some projects this summer. There's a lot of advance work first. Everyone needs head shots for the casting director, Coco has costumes to design, and so on.

Hehehehe Ceru! Yeppers, it's "heel" out there.
Don't worry Googlie. It's just the media and paparazzi stalking this stocking, trying to leak secrets about my creative projects and the next season of Coco's closet.
But before I launch any summer wear, I need to wrap up some way, way over-due projects for my special Nebraska buddies, who one day I hope to meet. Jerome, you guys just need to mutiny next year and make the peoples take you to Rockford. I'm convinced that cuppy cakes taste better in Rockford.

Posted 05-13-07 06:47 AM Yes! Rick rack rocks! I especially love vintage rick rack, for all the obscure colours you can't find anymore like the 60s and 70s strange shades of greens and oranges.
Although the girl came home with a bag full of new metallic rick rack in different colors recently from some great sale. Ooo Shiny! A monkey can never have too much rick rack.

Posted 05-15-07 11:10 PM Hi everyone! hey, I just purchaced 12 pair of socks on ebay for 8.00$ the catch was, they were irregulars. It was like they were sewn with the brown part inside out, so the brown had more white woven in, and they were a tighter weave. I thought they were a pretty good deal, and kinda of fun to try to work with. I think the seller has a lot of these soxs. They are not vintage, but a good deal. Just passing on the info! Email me if you have any questions.

Posted 05-22-07 11:55 PM Hello Everyone!
Tomorrow we are going to go fishing in the pond! I am excited about this because Grandma Rosebud told me there are catfish in the pond and I am all anxious to hear them try to meow underwater. She said we don't need a boat cuz there's a dock and she said we will all have a turn reeling in the fish. I have never reeled in a fish before and i hope it isn't messy and I won't get stuck.
Yesterday we got to see a horse become a mama, the baby horse had REALLY long legs and it was funny watching it try to stand up, it's knees were all wonky like they didn't know what they were sposed to do and Hildur made me stop laughing.
Karl has been helping G.R plant the garden since he is the only one with the boots for it. He is excited about the tomatoes and squash cuz they both have yellow flowers.
We have been doing our very best to keep Grandma Rosebud happy since she has been spending so much time without her firefighter since he is on lots of fires this season. Some of them are very far away.
We all love you and miss you and hope that everybody is all hap hap happy!

That wood be extra fun to see New Mommy with Baby Horse. I wunder if Baby Horse will grow up to be in the big horse races like your namesake?
Beanie says she has been thinking about Gramma Rosebud because we see the fires on our TeeVee and we hope that everywun out there is ok.

I hope you have a great fishing trip Giacamo!
I have never helped with reeling in fish... I think you are right to be a little worried... Only fishing I have seen is those guys on tv from Alaska... that seems pretty scary to me. But you said you'd be on a dock and you are in California not Alaska so nevermind.
Can't wait to hear your fish stories.

Posted 06-13-07 04:53 PM here's a little bigger pic. yes, it's a scarf on her head, I used a vintage small sock. She has swarski crystals glued on the flower bud of the scarf, and the sprinkles on her apron. she also has crystals in the pupils of her eyes. I used my serger so the apron's trim is surged in pink. Her coffee cup is made of felt. thanks! ((((hugs)))) Kathy

The munkey took about and hour, the embelishements took another hour. It's so fun to watch their little persononalities evolve, it's like magic!

Posted 06-18-07 08:46 PM I agree, Munka... that whole coffee cup idea is pretty creative. Brilliant, Kathy!
With all the crazy whirlwind things going on around the Farm these days (good stuff- it's just been real gusty), I somehow went most of the spring without making a new monkey! But a few days ago, I finally did.
It was a darned special monkey, too. Two friends on this very board were very kind in sending me a pair of blue Rockfords. (Thank you again, guys.) Immediately, I couldn't make another brown monkey until I made a blue one... but for awhile there, I didn't want to risk "messing up" a blue monkey, so I never started any monkeys at all. (Is there a TLC figurine for that one?)
But a few days ago, the spirit of the Great Grandma visited at last. Someone who has been very helpful to me, and for whom I intended to make a monkey eventually, suddenly really needed one. Everything was quite simple then.
And this is the sock monkey girl I made:

I've promised Daisy Marie and the gang that I'll save the second pair of blue socks for a new member of the S-Farm family.
Onward and sideways!

Tamara has been very busy with monkey making, but she has not made very many monkeys. One of the sock monkeys has been very nice, she says she is a veterinarian and is always kind to human animals. Her name is Dr. Zira, this is what she looks like.

The other sock monkey only speaks chinese, but I figured out his name is Sun Wukong he is some sorta Monkey King.

Posted 06-27-07 09:16 PM Hello....I know I am not around here as often as I used to be....I just wanted to give a heads-up to people who have a "king dollar" in their neighborhood.
Lately they have been selling these awesome monkey wigs!
Actually what they are are "Scunci" brand jaw clips with hari extensions on them...but if you slide them off the jaw clips..."Viola"! monkey wig...
So any of you monkeys out there wishing you had elegant locks....try your local "king Dollar"

Must have been from Rousseau!
