This is the latest version of the "Roll Call" thread. Please sign in here, state your name, some of your interests if you wish, and your "monkey shelter" of residence.

For instance: I am WYSI WYG. I am the technical supervisor to this message board. I also help keep the computers at the Red Heel Monkey Shelter running. This leaves me very little time for hobbies.

PLEASE NOTE: Since there are allegedly nine six eight monkeys and things registered on the board and each thread only allows for five zero zero posts, let's try to keep conversation and greetings in this thread down to a minimum, and save it as a kind of registration forum/reference work.

Also, I know that a number of inanimate objects, weird rubber and plastic items, and other unstuffed animals have come on this board in the past to chat, but maybe we should keep this thread to sock monkeys, sock elephants, sock goats, sock etceteras, other curious stuffed intelligences and their human 'drivers'.

I'll start another thread at a later date for "things" that have posted here in the past. I have never understood the phrase "if walls could talk" because in my experience on the Red Heel Message Board they frequently do.

OK - have at it.

I'm Benny Hathaway. I publish the Monkey Ape Vine, the Red Heel Monkey Shelter's news and information resource. I also am official keeper of the "monkey census" here at the Red Heel. I also once tried to start the "Peanut Gallery" for monkeys who wanted to pursue their own art here, but Jacobean Stock has pretty much taken over the art side of the RHMS.

I also wrote the book Sock Monkey Dreams, along with my photography partner Link.

You guys all know me, though. You helped buy me a Banana Computer a few munce ago.

Mace is the King of Monkeys.

His Kingdom is based out of the Red Heel Monkey Shelter but extends over all Monkey Shelters. All monkeys who do not live in Monkey Shelters are also subjects of Mace's, and thus subject to any taxes he imposes and/or laws he sets down.

Fear not. Mace is a benevolent ruler whose wisdom and skills as a leader are unfailing.

My name is Emily. I am the Number One Monkey at the Red Heel Monkey Shelter. I was the first monkey to come to the shelter. Everyone else is following in my footsteps and riding on my sock-tails.

My job is to maintain the structural integrity of the bed. My hobbies include playing hanger in the band Bank and Hanger with Happy George, who is the bank player. I also help Happy George on his talk show by being his co-host, which helps with his ratings, since Red Heel Monkey Shelter residents like to tune in to see what the Number One Monkey is thinking.

Mace is not the king of ME, that's for sure.

My name is Cinnamon. I live in Smonkeytown with my sisters Coco and Ginger, and a few dozen other monkeys.

I have a polka dot bikini and go to the beach a lot. I love the feel of salt air on my knit. I'm an active member of the Smonkeytown Gingham Scouts troop and am always trying to earn more merry badges. My BFF is Sally from Michigan.

I'm Munce.

I live with a bunch of other sock monkeys in Hah-Vy-Ee. There are a lot of old plantations around here - sugar plantations, pineapple plantations, coffee plantations - so I think my people is considering calling our shelter The Banana Plantation.

I paint, draw, and sketch a lot. I painted a picture of myself onto my human's laptop lid. She seemed to like it, so I'm thinking about painting the front door up in pictures of sock monkeys next.

Other monkeys tell me I'm crotchety, but I'm not, harrumph. -They're- just slow on the uptake most of the time.

Also, Mace is not the boss of me, either.

I'm Greensleeves!

There isn't really much of anything I do in particular. I live in the same place as Munce and Hank and I really hope our people doesn't call it The Banananana Plantation because I can't spell it!

I -might- have been our human's first sock monkey, but I'm not sure now.

I'm still stuck in storage in California, which is INCREDIBLY BORING. I sneak into the house from the trailer to get to the computer and get online from time to time. I know my human is coming to rescue me and all the monkeys I'm stored with sometime in April, though, which makes me verrrry happy.

If my picture doesn't work I'll post another as soon as I'm back home.

I am a Gingham Scout and JD and I recently got a pet pig named Bacon Bogo. I think he will post soon. The pig. JD is quiet.

Hello, every of the body!

My name is Daisy Marie! I am Missus Mel'nee's very first-borned sock monkey girl! I live with my brother Wendel and my sister Dee Dee and many severals of the sock monkey cousins and refugees and peeples, here on the Sunnyflower Farm in Columbeeya, Missouree!

I have likings of gardens very of the much and make spendings of hours and the hours there with my cousin Clara Sue! We have been making tendings of the daffodils today!

I like to make meetings of new peeples, of the also! Some of the timings, I make the travels with Missus Mel'nee and we have the meetings of new friends that way! And I have likings of the singing and dancings! Last year, I made performings of the Lobster Jabberwocky at the Miss Sockford contesting!

Once upon the timing the Cool Girls Sqwad from the Redheel made visitations for a slumbering party here, when I was the sock monkey girl of the only, and Wendel was the sock monkey boy of the only! That was 'tastic! Cool Girl Frannie was there! She is sometimes of the superheroics! She has beings of one of my shiniest befriendings!

Supermonk!, the stacular really live actionary hero from the Mountain Familee, has beings of a very special friendship to me, of the also! And I make joinings of the Sally Appreciationary Society with the whole heartedness! And Munkadellic, too! And the ever fashionary Coco! And the awfully transmigrationaree Lucius Monkey, too!

Oh my goodness! I have wishings that the bloomings in every of the one of your gardens are of the many and the always! Thank you! Pleese be very happy peeples!

Greetings, gentle reader.

I am Wendel, student of world affairs and one of the administrators of this message board. Daisy Marie has provided some insight into the character of my homestead, although my area of responsibility is decidedly different than hers.

I tend to the information technology needs of the Sunnyflower Farm and provide research assistance to Mister David (so often and ignominously referred to as "The Boy" in this forum). In my free time, I scour global news and political science journals, and conduct my own private research projects.

In the past, I have on occasion been cajoled into some of Daisy Marie's theatrical productions. However, since our population has grown to its robust state, she finds that she has no end of willing volunteers for her creative projects.

This is of tremendous relief to me, for I have very little rhythm and do not enjoy stage makeup.

I am perhaps the only fluff-based creature at the Sunnyflower Farm who can accurately determine the time and date.

I am ever humbly at the service of this board and those who patronize it.

With all best wishes,

Wendel, Esq.

Hey, you guys.

I'm Dee Dee, named for Dee Dee Ramone, and my thing is music. All kinds of music, really, but especially what my friend Mix Monk (hey, dude) calls the "rock-a-rolla." Yeah.

I'm hoping to intern with Mix at Pretty Good Studios out in California one of these days. That would be so very excellent. Until then, I'm cataloging the Farm record collection (such sweet vinyl! thank you Whizz!) and searching for new music out on the net. Every once in a while I get to see a live show in town! I guess I mostly hang out with Veronica, Tenacity, Sufficiency and Daze.

I also run the Wonga La La word and poetry contest with Mrs. Tiffany right here on the message board. Totally dig that! I'm hoping we can resurrect the end of our last tourney so we can declare a Smackdown Champion and update the Hall of Triumph. The Wonga comes in its own sweet time, though, baby. This I know to be true.

Anyway, that's what I know. Catch you later!

Greetings all! I am Fynn, an old sockmonkey who's found a place to call my own here in Michigan. My human has opened a refuge for sockmonkeys in search of whatever it is that they are missing in their lives. Currently, we are 200+ sockmonkeys strong and more keep showing up all the time. I often act as a counselor to the new arrivals.

I'm still searching for true love. I want a sweet, pretty, little gal monkey I can settle down with and have a quiet life of books and intelligent conversation.

I was hoping that Abigail would find me interesting, but she's taken up with the theater crowd planning their next big production.

So if you happen to come across the love of my life, please send her my way.

Hello everyone, I am Sock. I am a manufactured monkey (“manu-monk“). I am the first sock monkey to live in the Bull City Monkey Shelter and for several years, I was the only one. Then another manu-monk arrived (Socka) and another (Miss Valli) and another (Miss Sock Monkey Café). Then a Grandma-made monk came, then a couple more, then a veritable flood of all sizes and shapes of monks, until there are now 55 sockosimians in residence.

I have traveled extensively with my humans-to New Mexico, the Grand Canyon, Carlsbad Caverns, the Smoky Mountains, and other locations too numerous to mention. Since I am the senior monk here (or “First Prime Primate”) many of the newer residents come to me for advice and, at times, comfort. Mr. Wayland has said that I am a perfect companion because no matter what shockingly stupid things he tells me, I never react emotionally.

Bull City is a nice place and everyone gets along. We have a bride and groom who came here at Christmas-they’re pretty sharp. I have a lot of friends here. Hurley and Quite the Dude and Jockeaux and Heidi are some of the monks here. If you come by, I’ll give you a guided tour.

Greetings, I am Quite the Dude, so named due to my extraordinary clothing and accessories. I came to Bull City in one of the initial waves of E-bay monkey deliveries. Although I am not a red heel monk, I am accepted and respected by the other monks here. I am very tall for a sock monkey and Googlie calls me “high-waisted”, but I think I am long-legged. Although my current avatar doesn’t show it, I have a remarkable hat, a paisley bow-tie and a vintage button on my belt. I hope to pose for a new avatar soon.

Here at home, I try to be helpful in solving problems, such as, where is Hurley’s hat? or should Hamilton Berger wear a pirate knitty t-shirt or a UNC Tarheels t-shirt? I can reach some of the things that are too high for the short monks. I always attempt to be the voice of wisdom. I have a girl friend named Jingley. She is taller than I am! We live in separate rooms so I don’t get to see her as often as I would like.

Lance Sportster here! My sister Elizabeth and I arrived here at Bull City munce and munce ago, I think from the E-bay, which must be a huge place. We are athletic trainers and sports and games organizers here at Bull City. We also are consultants in the areas of proper uniforms, game rules and sports medicine. The Bull City does not have the most athletic sock monkeys in the world, but they are game (ha-ha) for new experiences. Elizabeth and I are dressed in extraordinarily beautiful outfits. We hang out in the living room, where we are always trying to get the monks up off their red and moving around. We believe that stuffing circulation is important to good SM health.

We love it here at Bull City. There are so many SMs of different kinds, different sizes, different nationalities and different looks. Some are kinda lazy when it comes to sports, but they give it the ol’ sock monkey try. Others are pretty good players, like Hamilton Berger, McGyver, Bluey, Sock, Barnabas-he plays a game called “Cricket” ha ha-and the new guy, Rusty

Do you know my sister, Elizabeth?

I think she knows you.
