Howdy! Ah’m Ms. Kitchen Longtail one of the kitchen monkeys. Ah keeps things strait around here and fix up some snacks and meals for somma the monks around. Ah’m from the country, up in the hills, so most of what I fix is country food like nanner pone, grits n peanuts and chocky biskits. There is another monkey cook here, Mon-sewer ‘Omere. He don’t cook the same kinda vittles as Ah do, but he kin tell you about that. He and me got here to the Bull City place on the same day, in the same crate, from the great eebay. He’s a right nice fella, but Ah cain’t understand mucha what he says. We set around on the counters near the cookie jar and the “Toaster to Later That Same Day” as Mr. Wayland calls it. Ah don’t understand that at all.

There’s a coupla other monkeys in the kitchen, Jesper Earnhardt, Jr. (his mama was from Sweden and his daddy from North Caroliny) and a stout little fellow who don’t have no name yet. Ah tells him he oughta demand one or make up one, but he says it will come in good time. They sit on the icebox and guard us and the food from creetures. Ah’d love to get all the kitchen monks in one place and have a big kitchen monkey cook-off. Ah bet we could turn out some real good vittles and we could trade recipees and cooking styles. Well that’s about all. If you’re ever in the Bull City stop on by. Ah’ll whip up some nanner peel chips.

Bon jours, I am zee fine chef 'Omere Simpsonne. At zee Bull Citee, I am stationed in zee kitchen, where I create zee fine French cuisine for zee macaques who dwell here. I make dishes such as, zee nanners and truffles, zee filets de cocanut and zee triple chocky de la mort. Unfortunately, zee macaques here are by and large of zee simple sort and my creations are un peu sophisticated for zem, but zey will try zem any the way. Madame Kitchen Longtail, is a good cook for zee every jours meal, but zey come to me for zee big date. The madame helps moi a lot, because, to be honest, I am a little limp and weak in my limbs, so she does zee stirring and zee flipping and zee so fourth. We get along very well.

I like to travail around zee house and talk to zee other residents here, to see what kinds of dishes zey would like (to eat, not to eat off, silly). We have a new fellow from Mexico, M. Borracho Bandito, who just moved in. I look forward to preparing for him some date and nanner enchiladas, with zee chocky mole sauce, of course. So, if you are looking for zee best in macaque cuisine, stop by zee Bull City, I will create a special dish just for vou.

Hi I’m Red Monkey! You may have heard of me because I was recently named Mr. Sockford at the Mr./Ms Sockford pageant at the Rockford, Illinois Sock Monkey Madness Festival! I was sure surprised to win. I think it was because of my one of a kind look and my one of a kind mind. (When I was asked what to do about world hunger, I said, “Grow more nanners!”) My life has really been turned upside down, what with requests for public appearances in the bedroom and the office AND the kitchen. I am using my position to agitate for Sock Monkey rights. But I really just want to get back to normal and do what I do best which is play with my friends-and they are all my friends.

The SMs here at the Bull City are very nice and they all accepted me when I arrived here. Where I was before, they made fun of my red eyes-called me “Old Red-Eye”, but here they thought I was real neat looking and they encouraged me to enter the pageant. I like Sandra Dee and Harriet Deacon and that sweet ol’ Ma Rainey. There’s a guy named Sarge who’s very nice and I like the funny monk in the bathrobe, Arnold. You might say that I feel the same way about the Bull City that Gerry feels about Rockford!

If you’re in the neighborhood, stop by and say hello.

Hello, everyone! I live at the Bull City Home for Monkeys. My brother, Lance, and I were adopted together. We are dressed in a somewhat sporty fashion, I think that’s why they named us the Sportsters. Also because we like games a lot. My hobbies are eyelashes, haute couture, and poker, particularly Texas Hold ‘em.

Don't tell my brother Lance that you know me.

Roll Call Hello! This is a great idea, I’m glad to get to know so much more about somemonks I have seen post and some I haven’t. I am a musician. I play guitar and mouth harp. I love to sit in with other musicians and jam. I like Cinnamon and hope that we will meet in person. I was the first sockosimian from Bull City to post on the RHMS board. My other interests include the study of the shape of sock monkey ears and how that relates to their personalities, chocky cookies, and watching How It’s Made.

You see us together, chasing the moonlight (it's true, I have a crush on cinnamon)

Chilluns, y’all know me arready. Ah’m one of the Z clana monkeys. I left the Red Heel Monkey Shelter as part of the Benny Needs A Banana Exodus a 2007, and Ah haint looked back, nossir. The peeples here in Durham love me and take me lotsa places. Yep. I have two good friends here, Arlene and Granny Mae, who don’t take much interest in the board, so you haint seen em post or nuffin, and not likely to start. We’uns like to play dominos. This is how you play dominos. You line them up in whatere way you wants, straight line or fancy, but they got to be purdy close together, but not too close. Then, when you’s ready, you push the first one or the last one towards the other dominos. This is specially fun on wood or tile floors because of the sounds it makes.

The Bobbin
Welcome to the Red Heel!

Posted 03-31-08 11:14 PM              Reply with quote Edit Post Delete post
I am The Bobbin. Let me repeat that: I am The Bobbin. I’ve been up and I’ve been down and I’ve bobbed all around. So now I find myself in this Bull City place which is a place like a house like I been in before exceptin’ there’s sock monkeys all about. Now I was in a place recently called the Red Eel or Bread Heel or sump thin, I can’t hear that good and there was LOTSA sock monkeys at that place and some real nice ones, too. At the Bull City there’s just lots of monkeys not LOTSA monkeys.

Now the one thing about me, The Bobbin, is that I have always been the best at using my transfixin’ eyes to (1) get people to do my will, but in a nice way and
(2) win every staring contest I have ever entered into.

It’s true, no monkey or man has ever beaten me in a stare down.

Do you want to try?
Go!

You blinked!
See? Every time.

So when I got to this Bull City place I realized that the good thing about being the best at sump thin is that you don’t ALWAYS have to BE the best at it. You can pick your shots soda speak. I knew that the last thing these monks here who were just coming together as a monkey community needed was me coming in and freezing them in their tracks or making them go get me a pillow or a drink or crushing their spirit in a stare down. So I decided to cool it with the eyes (I have a way of cutting down to half-power). Oh I let them see a little of what I could do, but other than one real nice stare down with a lady monk called Granny May-no real action. And that was a no contest. NO CONTEST, I say! Somebody picked me up and shook me. Anyways, it’s in the books as a draw so still no monk has ever beat me.

So it’s pretty nice here. I’m gonna stay at least until the spring thaw and who knows when that will be.

-----------------------------
I suggest you squander your entire life savings on me!

I’m McGyver. You might remember my TV show from a few years ago. My agent says I haven’t aged a bit. I live at the Bull City Home for Sock Monkeys with lots and lots of sockosimians. It is a big friendly house, always plenty of chocky and nanners around here.

My job here is to keep things running smoothly. I’m doing a good job, too.

I need some waxed dental floss, a can of hairspray, a butane lighter, and a chewing gum wrapper. Don't worry, we'll get out of here.

My name is Eve. I am the first sock monkey Sharon ever made. At first I was shy, but everyone one here at Bull City has been so very friendly and kind that I didn’t have to be shy anymore. My BFF is Sandra Dee, who came to live here at the BCHSM at the same time as I was born. She is so funny and cute. She sang Look At Me, I’m Sandra Dee at the Ms. Sockford Pageant, and she was the first runner up to Red Monkey. I was in the pageant too, wearing a beautiful gingham frock made by Coco of Coco’s Closet, with a fabulous matching bag. I loved meeting Sally and Munkadelic. I hope to see lots more of everyone next year at Rockford. It was a fun, fun time!!!!!

My name is Blueberry Manilow. I started out writing jingles for advertising, but now I am a very smooth singer/songwriter. When any of the monks here at Bull City Home for Sock Monkeys wants to make the moves on some of the fine lady monks like Ms. Sock Monkey Café, Sandra Dee, or Eve, they put on one of my records just to set the mood. Often it backfires, as they hear my songs and come to see me. So far, they haven’t figured that out.

I am a brand new monkey made with blue socks. I have a sister who is not blue named Miss Loopy LoopEars. She doesn’t usually post here, but she might sometime. We were made by Ellen Baeth of Ellensburg, WA . She must be important, since she has a whole town named after her.

Hi! I'm blue, but I'm not blue.

Hi Everybody! I am Stubbs Magillicutty. I got my name because someone removed my tops before I was born. I have shorty little arms and legs. I am blue. I like to trick peeple all the time. I can usually trick Sally so bad. I live with Beanie and Munka and Sally and Chesi and in all there are nine monks to trick here. We have so much fun all the time but sometimes peeples get mad at me for tricking them. On April Fool's Day I tricked everyone by not doing any tricks on anyone. Peeples were waiting and waiting and all jittery all day because they were waiting for something to happen and it never did! HeeHee

I'm blue but not blue. I'll trick you.

Hi! My name is Mt. Pleasant Monkey. Sometimes peeple call me Cool Cuke because my skin has turned greenish. Or maybe it has always been greenish. I don't know. I am the oldest monkey here at the house where Beanie and everyone else lives. My pieces were in the bottom of the sewing box for munce before Beanie was even born. I wasn't born for a while though. I sat and sat in that sewing box but I don't remember that at all since I had no brain fluff at that point.

But now here I am.

I Love to play badminton. In fact, I was the Mt. Pleasant Badminton Champeen for several years in a row. I just play for fun now whenever anyone wants to take up a game. I can't wait for the snow to melt around here so we can start up again.

I have been to every Sock Munky Madness Festival that there has ever been! My best good friend is Overly Norvous and we hung out the WHOLE time at the last festival. I am scared of raisins. I love to jump on the bed. I like bugs. My sister is Sally. Sumtimes I chase her with bugs but it isn't all that fun because she likes bugs too. I am an official member of the Red Vest Club but we arnt posed to talk about that at all so I won't and you dint hear it from me.

We have fun all the time around here except when peeples get a little mad like when I ate all the Easter candy up.

Hi Everywun,

My name is Emily Anne. I was the first sock monkey at my person's house. She adopted me from a place called Ebay, and she said she fell in love with me at first site. She has now adopted a lot more sock monkeys, and we live in a house in the woods in Tennesee.

My person spends a lot of time making picshures of us, and she uses the picshures to tell stories featuring friends and family, so we have lots of fun. She is now learning how to make sock monkeys to send to peeples when they are sad or feeling sick. She says nothing can cheer up someone like a sock monkey. I say Amen!
